Above and Beyond the Basics

Canine Good Citizen Prep Class

The AKC Canine Good Citizen Test is designed to recognize owners who have demonstrated responsible ownership and training their canine companion for good manners. This prep class will help you review and practice for the 10 exercises that make up the Canine Good Citizen Test

This class is best suited for dogs that are already familiar with the CGC exercises and can already perform basic obedience skills. Dogs should be comfortable in the presence of unfamiliar people and dogs.

The CGC test will be held during the last class of the session.

Really Reliable Recall Workshop

Does your dog come every time you call or ignore you? Can you call your dog away from distractions or when you are in new locations? The Really Reliable Recall class will give you the skills you need to work on, to get a reliable recall. The goal is to have a reliable recall anywhere, even in new places when your dog is distracted. Classes will be outside, so dress accordingly.

Using the Really Reliable Recall method is fun, easy to train and works for dogs of all ages.

Part 1: During the first workshop we will talk about playing games to get your dog excited about recall and introduce the Really Reliable Recall method.

Part 2: After a few weeks of practicing techniques from Part 1 we will work on adding distractions to the Really Reliable Recall method.
