Benefits of Daycare
Dog Daycare is a unique and convenient solution for owners who must work long daily hours, but still want to enjoy the pleasures of owning a dog.
Daycare gives your dog both the mental and physical stimulation that he needs to keep him happy and healthy.  Dogs are naturally pack animals and do well in a social environment.
Given the stimulation that he needs, he will be less likely to develop destructive stress related behavior at home.
Daycare is also the perfect solution for families that are having construction at their homes, or selling their homes.
If nothing else, it’s Dog-Gone Fun!

Eligibility
All non-aggressive dogs are welcome at Dog-Gone Fun.  We evaluate your dog and place him in a playgroup that best suits his energy level, size and play style.   See our Rules for specific health regulations.

The Interview/Evaluation
Before your dog attends a day of daycare, we set up a time where we can meet you both at the facility.  This is a free evaluation and only lasts approximately 15 minutes.  We go over the questionnaire and discuss any specific health or behavior issues your dog may have.  He will meet another social dog and we can discuss any concerns.  Please call for an appointment.

A Typical Day
Drop-Off time is between 7-9 a.m.  We will take your dog back to the supervised play area where he will meet-up with play-mates.  Your dog will have his own personalized “cubby” where his leash and any personal toys and snacks will be stored.  You can grab a fresh cup of our “Dog-Gone Good” coffee and embark on your day.  Any money transactions will be taken care of at pick-up.
Mornings at Dog-Gone Fun will be the most active time for the dogs.  They are full of energy and this is when the dog-dog interaction is high.

There is a mandatory quiet time between 12-2.  All the dogs will be either crated or in a space by themselves.  This gives them a chance to wind down from the morning, eat their snacks and get the mental and physical break they need.  Any dog that looks like they need more frequent breaks will be given a chance any time during the day.
From 2 p.m. until pick-up time the activity level is a bit lower with interval of play, lounging and belly-rubs.

Behavior
Our staff is very knowledgeable about dog behavior.  To ensure a safe and controlled environment there are rules that are enforced among the dogs.  We periodically disrupt intense play sessions among the dogs.  Like children, dogs can get out of hand.  The play-groups are always directly supervised. We are knowledgeable in crowd-control.  Any dog who shows aggressive or inappropriate behavior loses play privileges with a short time-out. This entails being with a staff member on lead, or spending time in an enclosure until he exhibits calm behavior. There is no physical punishment at Dog-Gone Fun.

We also promote the philosophy of “Nothing in Life is Free” Dogs must sit patiently to go through gates and for individual attention.  This helps us maintain our leader status.  We hope that owners will continue this practice at home also.

Safety and Injuries
Dog-Gone Fun is very safe for your dog to play and socialize.  Even in the safest environments accidents can happen.  Your dog will be more physically active than he is at home.  This increases the chance of cuts, scrapes and sprains caused by activity.  If your dog suffers any “playground injury” we will notify you immediately.
